Comedian Richard Jeni Dead of Apparent Suicide

Comedian and actor Richard Jeni was found dead in his West Hollywood apartment over the weekend, presumably from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
A loaded gun was reportedly found next to his body.
According to Jeni’s biography, he has appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno more times than any other stand-up comedian, dating back to when the Tonight Show was hosted by Johnny Carson. He was also a writer for and friend of comedian Chris Rock.
In 2004, Jeni was named number 57 on Comedy Central’s list of the 100 greatest standups of all time.
